Neighborhood Bakery was founded in 1973 in Brooklyn, NY by Benjamin and Beatrice Sabir. Neighborhood began as a retail bake shop, however the high demand for the nationally famous Bean Pie steered the company in the direction of wholesale. Purchasing natural raw ingredients, Neighborhood Bakery uses these ingredients to manufacture handcrafted, assorted baked goods.

Benjamin at the tender age of 26, with 5 years baking experience, no business background and only $500 put his dream plan into action and became “Mr. Bean Pie!”
